Posted 5/10/2007 6:22:05 AM | | | | We have the c360 My Workplace add-on installed to MS CRM3.0 because in CRM the queue views of emails are quite useless. With c360 we can at least show the most important attributes of an email, like Sender, Recipient, Date&Time and Description (and not just Title, Type, Date). c360 has been incredibly slow and buggy from the start (the screen flickers when moving the mouse over the Description area, the lowest email in a screen cannot be selected, assigned emails sometimes appear double, the number of emails counted in the left hand pane does not match with the actual number in the queue, etc.) some of us prefer using c360 (without Description) over the standard MS queue views. But recently I received a server error whenever I tried to set the User Preferences in My Workplace. How can I repair this ? I saw there is an upgrade, but this does not apply for the version number we are running (3.0.7.265) Thanks

After you upgrade to version 3.0.8, you should also install the hotfix that you mentioned because it solves a "timeout" problem when a queue contains a large number of items. assigned emails sometimes appear double, the number of emails counted in the left hand pane does not match with the actual number in the queue This is a Microsoft CRM problem that started occuring after applying the Daylight Saving Time patch. Several of our customers have complained about this problem and our own production system has also suffered from it. I was able top solve it in our system by following the instructions in the following Microsoft KB article. But recently I received a server error whenever I tried to set the User Preferences in My Workplace. This problem is caused by the fact that your User Preference file has become corrupted. The simplest thing to do is to delete you config file and set your preferences again. You will find your file in the "C:\Program Files\c360 Solutions\v3\UserPreferences" folder.

| Posted 6/20/2007 1:16:47 PM | | | | hi, I've had users that had this issue and the deletion of the file fixed the problem temporarly. So basically, it needs to be deleted every x number of days because it keeps occuring and this, only for a few customers. Any idea why this is happening? |
| Posted 6/29/2007 9:37:48 AM | | | | The usual cause of these User Preferences errors is that recent CRM changes are not recognized in the user's preferences file. When users access the My Preferences area, a file is created for them that maintains their settings. There is no additional measure to monitor CRM changes through this file. So, when a queue that the user has configured in My Workplace has been removed in CRM, it will render his user preferences file as invalid/corrupt. If you are in an environment where CRM changes (i.e. deleting or changing the names of queues, users and entities) are constant then this will be an unavoidable issue for some. The best way to prevent these errors is to (if possible) pro-actively inform users if a queue, user or entity is removed/renamed so they can remove them from the related c360 product first to avoid any corruption. For example, if you are deleting a queue make sure any users that may have it configured in My Workplace removes its from there first. -Henry |
