In order to do this by record there is some jScript on the CRM form that set the proper web address for the iFrame on load. In the standard CRM form it works great, in the Console however we get nothing but a blank iFrame. I beleive this is because there is no Jscript loading the web address when the page is loaded. During the webinar source code will be discussed as well.

For those of you with a development background, the Console is something that you can levereage to create some custom functionality to create some great value-added solutions for your CRM customers (or for yourself) to meet specific customer and industry needs. The report contains information from a peripheral ERP database, that does not live within CRM. I can get the report to execute (after having to manipulate the c360 database, which may be the main source of my issue), but I cannot get a hyperlink to launch properly from within the report. I would like the hyperlink to launch a new window (Hyperlink = http://localhost/SFA/conts/edit.aspx?id=parameter, to launch the Contact Edit screen for the specific Contact) and after some research on the web, it looks like the way to do this is to include the "rc:LinkTarget=_blank" parameter on the URL of the main report. This switch directs how hyperlinks within the report should launch. When executing the report directly from IE via the URL (Example: http://localhost/ReportServer?/Client Reports/Serial Query&rs:Command=Render&rc:LinkTarget=_blank) the hyperlink is created in it's own new window, if I leave the rs: and rc: switches off the URL, the hyperlink takes over the full active window. When I try to add the LinkTarget to the Console as Custom Content, I get the following error: "The ':' character, hexadecimal value 0x3A, cannot be included in a name". Here is the entry from the db_ContentItems table: <ProductConfig ProductURL="http://localhost/ReportServer?/Microsoft%20CRM_MSCRM/iFrame%20Reports/Serial%20Query&rs:Command=Render&rc:LinkTarget=_blank" CellHeight="250" Scrolling="yes" CanRenderWithoutContext="true"/>

Is there a formatting convention that I need to follow? Or is there maybe an easier way to get this functionality, and I'm taking the difficult approach? Any help would be appreciated, as I think this could be handy functionality in general, thanks.

Mark

KB articles

Please read the following articles to learn about the known issues and possible workarounds related to Console for Microsoft CRM v3: http://www.c360.com/Support/?subjectid={31A71B8E-27A4-441F-924C-C925D99F197F}&name=CRM%20v3.0%20-%20Console
