TimeOut Error

For one of our larger accounts, we keep getting (~50% of the time) an error returned when we click on the Summary flag. It takes awhile to process before getting the error message. In the Event Log, the error message indicates that it was aborted due to a time out. Is this a known issue? Is there anything that can be done besides changing the CRM TimeOut registry entry to a longer period of time (not an option since we used to have an expanded time out but due to other performance issues Microsoft Support had us switch it back to the default value saying it was doing more harm than good...)

When viewing certain emails in Summary, the HTML formatting is

Summary shows html tags within emails

We are aware that when email activities are displayed within Summary, they sometimes show their embedded html coding. This also results in extra whitespace in the email which hinders Summary usage. A future update will resolve this issue.

However, you can improve your results by unchecking the "View Preview Pane in HTML" checkbox within Summary's "My Preferences" option.

Showing Contact Summary in iframe

I am looking for some help in embedding the summary window in an iframe for a contact so the user can see the contact info and the summary of activities on the main form. I have done this with "out of the box" activities and history, but I am having an issue in determining the parameters for the summary screen,

the url: http://crm/c360/summary/summary.aspx&oId=<contact guid> gives an input string error.

Any ideas of how I should form this url for the iframe?

When I select Entity Category = Custom Entities. The Entity Type drop down only has one entry "All Custom Fields". I am expecting it to give me a list of all the child custom entities. Is this not how it works? I have a number of custom child entities.

Activities not displayed regularly

I am having an issue where sometimes activities display and some times they don't. It seems to be random and happens for all users. I have played with the issue from remote and when logged into the network and it happens either way. If I click on a summary in an entity I know has activities sometimes things come up and sometimes I get no activities (No activity records are available in this view). Can anyone give me an idea where I start troubleshooting this at. FYI, I have seen this on multiple clients in different systems. Is there an IE setting that may need to be tweaked? Do I need to play with he registry settings or something. When things do actually display the content is fine but it's all or nothing it seems like.

Hide Quick Activity Buttons

Hi,

My goal is to hide the quick activity button on all c360 summary grids.

Looking at the C360 Summary configuration file on the server “C360.summary.config” there are the following settings.

Setting these keys to false removes the “Add Note”, “Add Phone Call” and “Quick Activity” buttons from the My Summary View.

However this does not apply to the summary view that appears on the Account or Contact records (associated records Summary View).

Is there another setting or way to show/hide these buttons in the associated records Summary view?

Quick activity in an iFrame?

So I want to embed the quick activity directly into a case form and have done so using an iframe and it works but the frame does not refresh so the original QA stays populated. This could really be helpful for our users who create and udpate cases but only if it will be able to refresh and allow for use more than once.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Summary error

I installed the latest version of my summary in an environement and I am sometimes unable to see the activities in there and get errors in event viewer. Sort by Date

My users have just brought an issue to my attention - in all of the standard CRM forms, when you sort by date, it correctly sorts by year, month, then day to display items in chronological order. In the Summary form, however, it appears to sort by month, day, year. So all of the December items, regardless of year, are lumped together. Is there anything I can do to get this list to sort in the standard way?

Hi,

I'm working on the implementation of MS CRM and my client wants to have a field on the company entity with the last date the company was contacted. In order to do that I created a custom field in the company entity and I managed to update the field every time an email,phone call, fax or letter is created. I did that by accessing to the crm db with javascript placed on the onsave event of each entity (I know it's not the best solution but it works).

The things is that now my client wants the last date contacted field of the company entity to be updated when a "quick activity" is created but I couldn't manage to add the javascript code.

Is it possible to do it and if so... How can I do it and what would be the best approach.

Quick Activity

So when using the quick activity and using the phone call activity type, when you save as completed the only option. The activity actually stays open. This is the only activity type that stays open when using the quick activity.

This causes extra work when an activity is thought to have been completed but when you go to resolve your case you are prevented from doing so due to open activities

Custom Entities and Summary

So in using the code provide in the other post, we have been able to get the summary icon to show up in our custom entities but it does not pull the activities or history for the records into the summary.

This also happens when a custom entity is selected in a console, the summary field looks but never populates with any of the activities or history associated to the recrod. Even when a new activity is created using the quick activity, nothing shows up in the console summary field or in the summary when it is run from the left Nav within the record.
