Attached below are the release notes from v1.0.114 (changes from v1.0.107 to 1.0.114)

Fixes:

- Relationships did not work with special characters.
- Cross-thread access caused UI to crash sometimes.
- Imc-files were relying on Object Type Code rather than Object Type Name.
- Match criteria did not match correctly on Picklist values.
- Minor UI and SQL improvements.
- Last row in text data source was not retrieved correctly
- ObjectID matching caused SQL to fail.
- Forign lookup function did not handle special characters correctly

help: moving customizations to production

On our development server, along with the customizations made to CRM, we have also added c360.

Microsoft CRM has a built in tool for exporting any CRM customizations from development to production server.

[u][b]My question is:[/b][/u] Is there a way to use the built in CRM tool to export our customizations while blocking c360 and it's customizations from being exported to our production server.

This is becuase we would like to install c360 after moving our own customizations to the production server first.

Clone Quote Product

Hi there,

I managed to install the c360 clone tool, it works fine to clone company, quote, order, invoces, etc but it doesn't work when I try to clone a quote product, it comes and error that says the server was unable to process request. I looked at the Clone.aspx and it seems this option is not supported.

Is there any updated tool to do this, How could I resolve this?

Error Displaying Service Calendar and Fiscal Year Settings CRM 3.0

I am trialling the full set of C360 products on a SBS 2003, CRM 3.0 site. I am unsure which one "broke" things, however when we attempt to open the Service Calendar or the Fiscal year Settings page we recieve a "Server was unable to process request" error (details below)

We are in New Zealand so we have a DD/MM/YYYY date format here so Im guessing its a date format issue of some sort.

Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this? I have run the Latest CRM fix roll up 3 after the C360 install

c360 CRM 3.0 translation files

Hello,
I just figured out, that the c360 german translation files have not been translated completely. E.g. the german.xml for the toolkit module has less rows than the english.xml. This results in several error messages at the other modules (Record editor...) .
I have installed the latest german language files and the latest c360 components. Will there be a complete translation?

Any get the 'free' C360 utilities working?

I have most of the C360 utilities (licensed ones) working with my CRM3.0 setup. I did have a few issues with My Summary as I have my CRM server different from my SQL 2000 server. That problem is now resolved.

I get the following from the Copy Address utility (and something similar from Clone, which is the one I really want!)

Anyone gotten these to work?

CTI: How to simulate a TAPI environment on a VPC

With Version 2.42 of CTI, you can now simulate a Telephony environment without being connected to a physical phone line. So you can now simulate on a VPC.

To use the simulation only, without a live telephone, you can install TelephoneIntegration and register with any given tapi line (e.g. H.232 - Windows supplies several lines by default).

To enable call-simulation you have to start the TelephoneIntegration client with the sim parameter. (e.g. c:\...\Callinfo4CRM.exe sim).

This will enable a new contexmenu-item called Simulation. Clicking on that item will open a telephone simulation window. The simulation covers incoming calls, outgoing calls, picking and hanging up a call.

To simulate an outbound call start with entering into number into (1) or use the numberpad at (6).
Then use (2) tostart the incoming call simulation.
If you want to simulate a missed call hangup now by pressing (3).
To pick up the call as if picked up locally, use the button (4) or if you dont use the simple balloon, then you can also use the controls on the balloon.
To hangup as if on the local phone, use button (5).

Object doesn't support this property or method

Whenever we open a C360 screen that contains a grid - so for exmaple the Multi-Field search or the Customer Portal, we get a "Object doesn't support this property or method"

Is there anything we can do to rectify the problem or debug the issue?

Help with appSettings for the clone utility

Following the Clone install instructions, I am told to

a. Set the <appSettings> ISVIntegration key to "All" (please note that this value is case sensitive and that the "A" needs to be capitalized): <add key="ISVIntegration" value="All"/>
b. Add the following line inside the <appSettings> element tags:

But as you will see from my web.config below I have no <appSettings> tags, does anyone know where should they go, so that the above can be added?

Customer Portal

New Features

· Ability to specify Accounts for which the Portal user can Create Cases

· Ability to specify Accounts for which the Portal user can View Cases

· Ability to specify Accounts for which the Portal user can Edit Cases

· Ability to specify Accounts for which the Portal user can Reopen Cases

These new Customer Portal features will now allow the Portal user to create and manage cases for multiple accounts.

These features now open up the possibility to use the Customer Portal in different ways where a user may need access to multiple accounts to service. A typical example of this may be when an implementation consultant needs ability to create and manage cases for different clients.

These options are highly flexible and can include complex scenarios such as ‘Allow user to create cases for Account A and B but view cases for Account B and C. Complete details including a step by step guide can be found on the Customer Portal Administration Guide.

Audit

Fixed Issues

· Audit is passing localized date-time parameters to SQL instead of in UTC format. This fix will ensure that parameters sent to the procedure are always of Date-time type.

· Paging not working correctly - always selects records from first page. This fix will eliminate the problem related to paging and refreshing of the Audit view section on selecting a new record after page navigation. Now on navigating away from the first page, the view details area should be cleared and Record details for the record selected on page 2 should be displayed in the Audit section

Console

New Features

· Associated entity list cell will not display inactive account and contact records.
Note: This change is ONLY for the Contacts and Accounts associated entity list cell.

Fixed Issues

· Adding CRM view cell in console throws java script error. This fix will allow user to successfully add CRM view cell to console.

· Incorrect data displayed in the print preview and export to excel for CRM view cell when default view of any tab is changed. This fix will eliminate the problem related to data appearing with one column shifted in “Print Preview” and “Export to Excel”; when the view is changed in CRM view cell

· Error message 'An error occurred while fetching view data...' is displayed in the CRM view cell when clicking on first sorting button after changing the default view under a tab. This fix will eliminate the error in the CRM view cell grid, when user tries to sort the records using first column in the grid.

Summary

Fixed Issues

· Summary is not respecting line breaks in the description. This fix will resolve the problem related to the description preview not respecting the line breaks. Now the description preview will correctly display the text in the preview with line breaks.

· Summary Description Rollup Issue when there is a relationship between a custom entity and a system entity. Now the description text will be displayed in the preview correctly according to the settings under Preferences, when a relationship is created between system entity and custom entity.

Field Level Security

Fixed Issues

· Error page displayed while opening a record after making a custom attribute forbidden. This fix will allow user to open the entity record successfully when FLS settings are applied on a custom attribute of ‘bit’ type.

· Performance issue with a large number of roles and fields. This fix will eliminate the problem related to lag in response time in loading the entity record when field-level security settings are applied on large number of fields and role.

Data Quality Center

Fixed Issues

· Semicolon is required error is thrown on creating a contact in an account record after installation of Data Quality Center. This fix will eliminate the problem related to ‘Semicolon required’ error popping up when user creates a contact inside an account record after installing Data Quality Center

I would like to have more information on c360 licensing . Here is the scenario

The company i am representing is a multinational company . We have 80 odd CRM 3.0 coroprate licences. One of the sunsidiaries in the process of CRM implemntation for around 40 users including c360 modules for audit and multi currency . The CRM for subsidiary will be hosted as a stand alone environment seperate to corporate implmentation on a different set of servers , different set of users etc . The organisation's policy for procuring and managing the licenses for all software(including CRM and C360) will be through coprorate account .

From the documentation available on your website it was not clear how many c360 licenses are required for the subsidiary. Could some one please help .

Errors after installing Multicurrency Management

Hi,

We are having some problems installing multicurrency management on CRM 3.0 (CRM server is updated with latest Microsoft Hotfixes/rollups prior to isntallation):

WHen installing, everything looks fine. However, when navigating to settings-->C360 configuration settings in MS CRM Web site, I see some settings for c360 database connection string, and CRM Database connection string. Both of these are blank. Is this correct? Also, I cannot see that the installation has generated any c360 database on my SQL Server. Is this correct behaviour?

Also, when clicking the "c360 tools" link on the top bar in CRM and chosing "multicurrency" I get a "Server error in /c360" application. It states that it is unable to find tje licensing file, although it is there. I cannot find any documentation for how to fix this.

Hopefully someone can help?

New Feature

An option has been added to the VASTAdmin tool that will force the tool to process not only new custom entities but existing ones as well

Fixed Issues

Locking exception while logging to a file. The application will successfully write logs related to CRM events to a file with appropriate locking mechanism.
Default view set from ‘Copy and Customize’ screen of Deleted Account does not work. This will allow user to set a default view from ‘copy & customize’ screen of a ‘Deleted Accounts’ filter.
Clicking on “Apply rule” option under “Actions” menu of Audit Analyzer displays an error message with GUID & does not apply the rule. This fix will allow user to apply ‘CRM Workflow rules’ to the records from Audit Analyzer and Audit Tracker actions menu.
Deleted On' date-time value in the “Deleted Contact” view does not reflect the correct time of deletion. The date-time stamp in the Analyzer Filter for deleted entity records differs from <entity> change summary “modifiedOn” date-time stamp by a number of hourly increments.
Audit Activity Parties copies all records for pre-existing Activity Edits. If the system contains pre-existing Activities prior to the install of Audit, and when one of these pre-existing Activities is edited - Audit will no longer copy all Activity Parties in the vscrmauditactivitypartybase table
System-created Filter/View "Deleted” yields error in Audit Analyzer. This fix will allow user to view deleted custom entity records on the Analyzer screen when ‘Delete<customentityname> filter’ is selected in Audit filters pick-list.
Options in System Views do not appear for Custom entity. If we create and register a new custom entity, the various options for System views now appear for the custom entity.
When a view is customized to include 'Additional fields'; Audit throws an exception in an installation wherein the SQL Server is installed using a non- default Case Sensitive Collation. This fix will allow user to successfully change the display type of entity fields to In additional fields from ‘copy & customize this view’ or ‘Customize this view’ section.

Console

Fixed Issues

· Search Cell using the Quick Find search field does not return results when using an apostrophe in search text. This fix will allow user to search entity records when the search criteria contains an apostrophe

· Console Search Cell 'Search All', Export to Excel should be disabled. When user performs ‘Search All’, Export to excel and Print option will not appear in the grid menu bar.

· Search All results are not displayed in the order as configured in Search Preference screen. This fix will eliminate the problem related to ordering of fields configured for Search all. Now Search cell in console will show entity records in correct order as configured under search all tab.

· Configured CRM view cell doesn’t refresh the cell properly on changing the view dropdown.When CRM View cell is configured to display ‘Views’ picklist, the cell grid will refresh and display configured entity records appropriately based on the view selected in the Views picklist.

· Error is thrown while trying to configure record details cell from the console page. This fix will allow user to configure ‘Status’ field in the console’s Record detail cell for CRM entities.

· Should be able to save the changes made to fields of custom entity in Record detail cell. Using this feature, user will be able to edit and save changes to a custom entity record from ‘Record detail cell’ of console.

· Console Record Details of Custom Entity different from CRM. This fix will eliminate the problem related to discrepancy in layout of custom entity records in Record detail cell of console and CRM’s custom entity form. Now the console record detail cell for custom entity will have the same spacing as in CRM.

· Web page dialog does not show deletion confirmation details when user tries to delete activities from CRM view grid. This fix will allow user to successfully delete the activity records configured in CRM view cell.

· Filtering on "associated entities" cell in console does not filter results for custom entity. This fix will allow user to filter entities associated with a custom entity in the associated entity list cell of console.

· A Server error is reported on changing the status reason field of custom entity record in Record detail cell and saving the changes. Now in Record detail cell, the status reason field will show only active option.

Customer Portal

Fixed Issues

· Case titles or description text with special characters are not correctly displayed. This fix makes it possible for case titles or description texts containing special characters like single quotes to be correctly displayed on the Portal Customer Interface side.

· Special characters not handled in Case Settings area of Portal. This fixes the issue of special characters not being visible in the Case Settings area on the CRM side. Now users can add subjects etc. with special characters.

· Default Subject assigned to service case from case settings cannot be viewed from Portal Interface side. This fix allows users to view a subject for a case from the Portal Customer Interface side which has been assigned as a default subject from the Portal CRM interface side.

· Application throws error when non-admin user tries to invite contacts. This fix allows users, who have been explicitly specified as administrators using the AdministratorRole key in the config file to invite contacts from CRM.

· On changing the section selected in ‘Manage Profile settings’ page, the fields corresponding to the section selected do not get refreshed.This fix maintains consistency between the left and right pane of the Manage Profile screen on the CRM side. When a section is selected in the left pane, it appropriately refreshes the right pane.

· System Garble – (Japanese Language version of MSCRM 3.0) This fix allows using backspace on the User Interface. Earlier when backspace was hit on the General Portal Settings, it used to display HTML text.

· Resolved - Turkish- I issue in Turkish language version of MSCRM 3.0

· Existing Portal users are invited to Portal membership from Portal Summary page of account record. This fix will make it impossible for the users to invite existing Portal users from the Portal Summary page of the account record.

· When searching KB articles and selecting a specific subject no results are returned even though they exist.

· Deactivated portal user can be invited for Portal membership from Portal Summary page of account record. This fix solves the problem of deactivated users been invited from the Portal Summary page on the account record.

· User cannot add a custom lookup field to case form from Portal CRM. This fix will allow users to add custom lookups from the Portal CRM Interface onto the case form.

5. Data Quality Center

Fixed Issues

· Non Admin User role: On clicking "Post-callout settings" area, the error detail page which is displayed does not show any details but is displayed as a blank page. This fix will eliminate the issue related to blank page displayed, when a user with non administrative privileges access ‘Post-callout settings’ area.

· Alternative comparison Rule: Server error. This fix will eliminate the issue related to duplication of fields when an entity field is de-selected from a Dual list box under Alternative Comparison rule section.

Email Link

Email To Case

Fixed Issues

· An email whose 'From' address in same as the account record is not processed to a case. Email whose 'From' address in same as the account record was not getting processed to a case. This has been fixed.

· An email is not resolved by associating from address of the email with the email id of the newly created contact. This fix will eliminate the problem related to email not being converted to case, if the sender of the email is a newly created contact which is created through c360 Email to Case product.

Field Level Security

New Feature

· Report error messages to the client browser while managing preferences. This feature will allow user to see error messages that occur on the server and provide appropriate information as to whether the configuration setting is being saved correctly

Fixed Issues

· Authenticated users do not have privileges on config.dat file. Now on installation of FLS, a Data folder is created inside V3 folder and authenticated users will be given appropriate privileges on this folder. Any file created on run time inside this folder will inherit the same privileges.

Forecast Manager

Fixed Issues

· Data in Forecast Manager grid not being saved when a sales stage with special characters in Stage names is applied to opportunity records. This fix eliminates the issues related to Forecast Manager and Summary integration. Now if summary is installed along with Forecast Manager, then Forecast Manager will successfully save data in all its fields which are configured in the grid.

Multi Currency Management

Multi Field Search

Fixed Issues

· Search all not returning custom entity records, if custom entity is created with special characters. This fix will allow users to search for custom entities which contain special characters like ‘<’, ‘>’ etc.

· JavaScript error on merging two records of similar type in Multi-Field grid. This fix will allow users to appropriately merge two records belonging to the same entity type.

· Search All Limit is behaving inconsistently for custom entities. This fix will allow users to apply search all limit to custom entities as well. Now, custom entity records will also be restricted with the help of this key in the user preferences file.

Problems with CRM Desktop Client for Outlook

I’m working on an implementation of a CRM, we also installed the CRM Desktop Client for Outlook, the CRM is working in a terminal server with around 20 users connected. At the moment we’re having problems, none of the CRM menus for Outlook are working. For instances If I click on the “c360 tools”, “CRM” or any of the CRM buttons, they don’t work and they didn’t even show an error message when clicking on them. This is really weird because FOR SOME OF THE USERS IT WORKS BUT FOR OTHERS IT DOESN’T. Did you have this problem before? I would really appreciate any help

A cumulative hotfix for Mobile CRM has been released. This hotfix addresses several issues and adds some new features for the server and the client. Release Notes are below

Release Notes

SERVER:
- Filters containing linked-entities didn't return data for the primary entity when only the link-entity was modified.
- Timezone bug in prevented some updated records to sync properly.
- Several other (performance improvements).
- Added Verbose Activity Tracing. See install.txt for more information about Activity Tracing.

CLIENT:
- Problem with background sync. When one entity failed, the next entity was skipped.
- Problem with the CustomerAddress entity. The CustomerAddress has a slightly different way of associating with a parent record.
Opening a CustomerAddress form failed and attaching a CustomerAddress to a parent customer (account/contact) also failed.
- SetState was always called when creating a new entity, even if it had default values. This was an unnecessar call and caused
problems with certain types of entities (e.g. opportunity).
- Find option in lists no longer starts searching after typing a single character. The Enter key is mapped to the find button,
so you have the option of clicking the Find button or pressing Enter.
- Filter fields of type picklist, statecode and statuscode were not handled correctly. This caused problems when trying to search
in a view that used these types for filter fields.
- CRM Metadata for the maxlength of certain fields doesn't match with the actual database field. This caused errors when trying
to synchronize data that was longer than the maxlength in the metadata.

After installing several C360 products (Relationship, Console, Summary, Alerts, Multi-field search) I now get an alert when I try to open an account or contact in CRM: This page contains both secure and non-secure items. Do you want to display the non-secure items?

I'm still getting this even though I've un-installed all the C360 products as well as changed the web.config file back to:

I'm at a total loss as to what to do next to stop this from happening. This was not happening before I installed the C360 products and I thought that I removed everything to do with the installation of the C360 products.

- ntext field not appearing correctly on the case submit form. This fix will eliminate the issue related to a custom field of type ‘ntext’ for case entity being displayed incorrectly on the portal service case form. Now the user will be able to see the custom field with the same text size as specified in CRM

- Inconsistent record counts in Potential Duplicate Queue (PDQ) after merge. This fix has eliminated the inconsistency in reduction of record counts in PDQ screen after an action (delete/de-active/merge) is performed.

- Performance optimization of PDQ screen. This change aims to enhance the user experience with the PDQ screen. Previously, the slice of records fetched in PDQ was implemented as a sliding window. This has now been changed to a fixed window. Additionally, a new feature of skipping empty groups (via a check box) has been provided (empty groups may appear while navigating because the slice is now fixed. So, a user can now clean all the records in a group, making it empty).

- The Potential Duplicate Data (PDD) screens sporadically logs an error in event viewer even when everything appears to be running fine. Error logging has been enhanced to more accurately reflect the state of the system.

- Export/import of FLS configuration. This feature will allow user with administrative privilege, to export and import FLS configuration into a file, for the purpose of easy configuration

- Optimistic locking will be implemented for multiple users editing the preferences. This feature will prevent the “preferences” file from getting corruted when multiple users try to edit it. User will be shown a locking error on clicking update button if changes of any other user are saved during edit.

– Progress will indicate the status of save preferences operation. When user edits the preferences and click on ‘update’ button, a progress bar indicating the progress of update will be shown. This feature will

help user in identify when it is safe to make another change.

– FLS not working while doing ‘Save & New’ from already existing record. This fix will restore the FLS configurations when user clicks on ‘Save and New’ from an existing record window.

- Specified Attribute does not exist on this Entity. If a field is selected for a view and then is subsequently removed from the entity, the application fails because the view cannot be rendered.

- Export to excel/print feature does not export “step name” values.

- Error on saving data from FM grid. The implemented fix allows users to edit and save Opportunity records in the Forecast Manager view.

- The excel sheet generated on clicking “Export to Excel” does not display the “column header” names correctly.

- Lookup field types for Search Fields are not searchable criteria. This fix will allow user to search for entity records using fields of type ‘lookup’ as search criteria.

Missing Line 11: Microsoft.Crm.MetadataService

We were having a problem with CRM and MS suggested deleting the microsoft.crm.metadataservice, which I did and it corrected the problem.

But now it has broken the c360 tools. When I try to access any c360 tools, I receive the following:

Parser Error Message: File or assembly name Microsoft.Crm.MetadataService, or one of its dependencies, was not found

Does anyone know how to add that back?

Copy Address Utility and Clone Utility

I successfully installed the most recent update of Console yesterday. Since then when I access the Clone Utility I receive the error message ' Server Error in '/c360' Application. The CRMServer key is missing from the web.config file or is empty. Parameter name: CRMServer '.

All of the other c360 modules and the Spellcheck utility work correctly.

I checked the Date Modified for both instances of Web.config, of which I am aware, that the error message might be referencing. They are C:\Program Files\c360 Solutions\V3\Web\CrmWeb and C:\Program Files\Microsoft CRM\CRMWeb. Neither file has been modified since December.

Since c360 doesn't support the free utilities, I hope that a member of the c360 Forum might be able to advise me.

PS: I certainly wouldn't mind paying for these very useful utilities if they were supported.

As I have discussed with Kanika previously - I have a problem where .NEt 2 framework is installed on my CRM3 server to support another ISV product (Tendigits Mobile Access) which is required by my users so they can access CRM on their Blackberries. The .NET 2 framework causes weird behaviour of C360 productivity pack so I am very keen to know when C360 will support this

After people apply the MS06-042 update, rated "critical" by Microsoft, IE may crash when certain Web sites are viewed, the company said in a notice on its customer support Web site. The problem affects IE 6 with Service Pack 1 on Windows XP and Windows 2000 systems, it said.

"Microsoft has identified an issue with the security update MS06-042," the company said in a statement Tuesday. It plans to re-release the bulletin and patch on Aug. 22 for all affected users.

The problem occurs when IE users view Web sites that use version 1.1 of HTTP alongside compression, according to Microsoft's notice. HTTP, or hypertext transfer protocol, is the standard protocol used to browse Web sites.

IE users on security mailing lists have reported browser crashes when using PeopleSoft applications that have Web-based interfaces. Others report running into problems when using other applications, including Microsoft's own customer relationship management, or CRM, tools.

"We are running PeopleSoft for administration systems, and our Windows 2000 SP4 and Windows XP SP1 running Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 crash when they got into the PeopleSoft pages," Fred Dunn, a systems administrator at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, said in an e-mail interview.

Installed multiple add-ons, now can't access any of them...

I'm currently evaluating several of the c360 product. I had the Relationship Explorer installed, and was testing, and all looked good.

I then proceeded to install the Multi-Field Search, Summary, Forecast Manager and MyWorkplace add-ons (one right after the other), and now when I try to go into the C360 Settings in CRM (or access the Relationship Explorer or other add-ons), I just get the hourglass and/or the web page acts like it's trying to load, but nothing ever appears.

Any pointers as to where I might look to troubleshoot this?
