Our problem is as follows: We want to be able to login to the portal and then see all cases belonging to the parent account.

Today we can only see cases where the contact in the case are either the portal user OR the parent account name.

For example, my company is called IDE. There are 30 cases registered to the parent account IDE. Of those cases three have either myself or IDE as Contact. When I login to the portal I can only see those three cases. I would like to see all 30 cases registered to the parent account IDE.

I have setup a relationship role in CRM to view cases (account to account and contact to account). I have created a relationship between my parent account and my own CRM-account where I'm assigned the role to view cases.

I've tried all possible settings under C360 Portal Settings in CRM with any luck

Product List - Look up record window.

Hi!

We have been running the V3 Customer Portal for a few months now. We have three queries regarding the Product List pop up window from the web front end.

Firstly, when the Product List pop up box opens, it defaults to not showing any of the products - Just a search box and one radio button with the label 'None'. This confuses our users and would like to have the full list appear by default.

Secondly, we have a number of products listed in MSCRM that while we do not want to delete, we do not want people to see in the web product list as we no longer sell/support them. Marking the products as 'inactive' in MSCRM does not stop them being visible in the portal. Is there a way to 'hide' them from the Portal?

Thirdly, we would like to know if we can change the wording on the pop up form header from the default: 'Type the information...' Is this possible?

Many thanks in advance

USers changing user name for logon

How does a user change their user logon name? OK - there is one for sure, but I was wondering if you ever build something like that before, since it is quite stupid in re-inventing the wheel. :cool:

I guess that would help many who are working with partners, to publish material to them, esp. since there are quite a few limitation in the standard KB module.

Many thanks for some supporting ideas.

Enno

Display data from another account

Hi,
our company is working over partners and these partners are dealing with end customers. Is it possible to set, that e.g. Company A (who's a partner), sees cases from Company B - who is there (and our) customer.

I know that I can define right within a certain account, but I am not sure if I can create a link between these accounts.

Apart from that I have to say, that the installation worked like a charm - very simple. The only bad thing, where C360 can not really do much about are the limitation of CRM which drive me mad arround the KB - that you can not have attachments or put screenshots into an article. If you ever develop something into that direction - I guess you would make MANY people very happy (shame on Microsoft).

Regards

Enno

Automated Customer Invitation and Request to Update Profile

In sending an invitation to a customer for them to become a member of the portal, can that invitation be sent automatically as a result of a particular event happening in MS CRM (i.e. convert lead to opportunity, or create an account record)? What we want to achieve is integrating the portal into a CMS managed website. (Will probably be Dot Net Nuke). So a customer would log in to the Dot Net Nuke site (to see other content and links) and reach a page with a link to the C360 portal to see cases etc. This would ideally then not prompt them for user/password again.

Regards

Rob Meredith

Custom tab: How do can I find information about the current user?

When a user logs into the c360 Customer Portal, the user’s contact information from CRM is stored in the Session["UserDemoGraphicInfo"] session variable. This variable contains an object of type "UserDemographicInfo" which is under the c360.Portal.UI.PortalWS namespace in v1.2 and under the c360.Portal.CustomerInterface.PortalWS namespace in v3.0.
You include the namespaces like so: In v1.2:
using c360.Portal.UI.PortalWS;
In v3.0:
using c360.Portal.CustomerInterface.PortalWS;
The following shows you how to retrieve this information:
UserDemographicInfo portalUserInfo = ((UserDemographicInfo)HttpContext.Current.Session["UserDemoGraphicInfo"]);
This object allows you to find out information about the current user such as his/her name, phone number, address, the unique identifier of the company he/she works for, etc.
Finally, you need to make sure that your project has a refrerence to the appropriate DLL where the PortalWS namespace is defined.
