Include Standard Actions Grid control

Hi,

I am having a problem with the 'IncludeStandardActions' property on the grid control. With this property set to false and run my application locally which displays a grid displaying Tickets (incidents) I do not see any of the standard actions.

However, when I deploy my application to our CRM server a Reporting icon is displayed on the grid menu which displays the options: Case Summary Table, Top Knowledge Base Articles, Service Activity Volume and Negelcted cases.

Why is this menu showing up?

c360.Toolkit.UI.Login

I have just found the c360.Toolkit.UI.Login class and it seems to provide the functionality that I require.

However I am unsure of how it works as I can't find any documentation on it?

Uninstalling SDK Customization

We are not developers and outsourced a customization to a developer no longer doing MS CRM development work. The developer is used the c360 SDK... we now need to remove this customization prior to upgrading the customer to 4.0. Are there specific instructions available for removing/uninstalling a customization?

c360 SDK Controls doesn't work in IIS environment

Hi,

We are using c360 SDK to build a new web page which contain c360 tab, text, lookup, lable and date controls. The problem is, if i run this page through visual strudio 2005 (e.g. while developement) everything works fine but if i run the same page through IIS (after making virtual directory in IIS 6.0, coping all the files and folders in that virtual directory), page opens but c360 tabs and c360 lookup control doesn't work meaning nothing happen on clicking on it though i can see it's not disabled on form.

any idea?

Iterate through the controls on a page to disable them. Take action depending on the value returned from control.GetType().ToString(); some controls are Enabled, others Disabled. But c360 controls all return a single Unicode character, 0x173F.

Requested Registry access is not allowed

lookup control - populate data from external datasource

I was reading through the c360 sdk training guide and found that the lookup control can search for data from external data sources.

The lookup control allows the user to look for a CRM record. Developers can specify which CRM entities to be searched, as well as from external data sources. This control can handle multiple entity types in the same lookup. The items in the lookup are defined in LookupItemCollection as LookupItems.

I did not find any property that allows binding to an external datasource on this control. The AllowedObjectTypes is the only property that I could find which can bind data to the control. Am I missing something?

Could someone please tell me how this can be implemented?

How to disable the c360 Grid?

Hi again, I think this will be my final question on this project.

(sorry for the long story, but I think it does make clear what I am doing :) )
I have built some pages that are displayed in different columns and cells in the c360 Console. The general idea is: when a user opens the Console, a grid page containing marketing lists owned by the user, is displayed and the other grid pages are still empty.

When a user clicks on a marketing list, one page displays the content of the list (which are only contacts), and another page displays the most recent phone calls to the contacts in the list.

Me and my colleague finally figured out a way to refresh the other pages, but I think there must be an easier way..

What we do now is, search for the contentCell ID's in the source and put those ID's in the web.config file so the code-behind pages can acces them. Then, the ClickHandler in the first page sends a RefreshContext(objectType, objectId) to the other pages, so they can refresh and display the correct data. This works perfectly fine when the contentCell ID's are added to the web.config, but when cells are added, removed, re-added etc, the ID's change, so someone has to look them up again and change them in te web.config..

The standard Console has some standard content pages (e.g. the 'record details') that have the same behaviour (refresh to display some data coming from another page). They can be added to the Console and work right away without having to find their ID's in the source, so there has to be some (javascript?) function to 'know' which contentCells must be refreshed..
I just hope someone can help me on this final thing (and maybe my other question: http://www.c360.com/Forums/Topic1942-8-1.aspx too ^_^ )

GridPage entity link on text only, not entire columnfield

Hi again, I hope the title is clear enough to understand ;)

I have a GridPage which displays recent phone calls, with three colums: 'recipient', 'description', 'date created'.

When a user clicks on a recipient, it opens a window with the record details, which is good. (I used ColumnType.EntityLink), otherwise, the ClickEvent is fired.

But what we would like to happen, is that the window only opens when a user clicks on the [i]text[/i] inside a cell (e.g. there is a contact named 'Hanno Zwikstra' in a cell in the 'recipient' column, when a user clicks on the name, a window with contact details opens, when a user clicks in the cell, but on 'whitespace', only a ClickEvent is fired).

Is that possible?

Override overflow CSS property on DialogPage?

Hi,

I have a dialog page with a fair number of controls, stacked vertically. However, no scrollbars appear, and the bottommost controls simply disappear. From inspecting the css, I see the body has the overflow property set to 'hidden', which explains the absence of the scrollbars. Is there any (supported or unsupported) way of overriding this? If not, any suggestions for alternative ways of building such a page?

Problem with link between data pages

Hi,

I'm trying to create a Console page, where people can view their marketing lists in one cell and the contacts in that list in a cell in the column next to it. (it must update when a user clicks on a marketing list)

I can retrieve the marketing lists from the current logged in user, and got the javascript working to update the other page.

But I just can't figure out how to pass the guid of a marketing list on to the other page. I've used a fixed guid of an excisting marketing list so far which works fine.

I thought i could use [code]string strId = Request.QueryString["oId"];[/code] to get the id, but it returns null..

I hope someone can help :D

Editable MSCRM grid

We are trying to implement a custom view where the user can do inline editing of the data in the grid. The data that is rendered is CRM entity data.

The feature is more like the standard ASP.Net datagrid feature where the user can click on the edit button rendered on a particular row and the row is open for editing. The user can update or cancel the changes made and the row would return back to the readonly state.

I understand that it is not a standard MSCRM feature. The c360 grid is amazing in terms of the functionality if offers and the rich styling which blends with MSCRM.

Would it be a good idea to leverage the c360 grid to implement this feature? I would greatly appreciate any design pointers.

Looup OnChange truncating at ampersand in Caption.

[Bug] HighlightSortedColumn = false not respected on re-sort

Hi,

I have discovered a bug in the grid control, SDK version 3.0.9.9 (newest version AFAIK).

When setting the property HighlightSortedColumn to false in the codebehind, the following holds true:
- The column is not highlighted when first loading the page (correct behavior).
- After refreshing the grid, the highlight is still not shown (also correct behavior).
- If clicking another column to sort by that or even clicking the original sort column to change sort direction, the highlight is now shown again (buggy behavior).
- After refresh, the new sort column/order is preserved, and column is highlighted (also buggy behavior).

I assume nothing can/will be done about this until next release of the SDK after the Titan release?

Error in Event Log

Hello,

After installing the c360 Toolkit on our CRM server the following two messages are logged to the Application Event Log quite often. The SDK itself seems to work (we are using the Grid Control primarily). There are no Exceptions visible to the user, however we have some performance issues and unexpected terminations of the app pool used for the c360 SDK. (See message at the end of the post)
The error occurs every 1 to 5 minutes, shortly followed by the warning.

Server is Windows Server 2003, The App Pool uses the Network Service account and runs under .NET 2.0.

Is this a known problem?
Any ideas how to solve this.

Lookup - Find: Exception

We are experiencing a problem with the "Lookup Records" component of the lookup control. When entering a search text into the "Look for" textbox and clicking the "Find" button, the following exception occurs:

Installing Application Built with SDK

We have a custom application that was developed with the SDK. In the past weve always loaded it with other c360 tools. Now we have an install that is only using our app.

When I try to load the SDK license file, I recieve the following error:

"An error has occured while validating the license information. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not found"

We also recieve this error inside of CRM when tring to access and pages that were created with the SDK.

Does anyone have any idea how I can get passed this issue.

I've went into all the config files to change the mscrmwebservice url to the proper one, yet I'm still getting this. I went through the stack... and sees that the problem occur when I'm using the RetrieveMultiple... does this mean i've set up the mscrmservices url incorrectly?

Order of js-files when using RegisterClientScriptFile

Hi,

We encountered a problem when trying to include javascript files in our pages with the Instance.RegisterClientScriptFile method.

We have a common javascript file and a page specific one. Sometimes the page-specific file holds code that calls functions from the common one. In our codebehind for the page, we would typically have code like this in the constructor for the page:

However, on some pages - not all - the order in which the files are included has not been preserved. Hence, code in PhoneResult.js fails, as the methods called that are in the NCCommon.js file are not found, as that file is first included later in the output html.

Does anyone have an idea to why this happens and what can be done to ensure the files are loaded in the proper order?

Search in Grid

DatePicker and it's "pristine" returnValue

I am expecting the returnvalue to be 2007-06-20T[b]10:10:00[/b] given the values on the SavePage showed to the user.

Is there an easy way to resolve this?

feature request: Given the sample above it would be nice if the time picker showed 10:15 when the page gets generated on 10:13:37...
Or 10:20 when TimePickerIntervals.TenMinutes is used...etc...

Problem with link columns in the c360 Lookup

I have used a single filtered c360 lookup for the Contact entity. Our CRM Contact lookup view includes the Parent Customer field which is a customer type populated with accounts only and is displayed as a link in the lookup. When the link is clicked, the lookup disappears and the Account edit page opens in the parent window from which the lookup was opened.

Is there any way to either turn off the link or force the lookup to open the link to the account edit page in a new window?

Notes:
1. It is not possible to remove the parent customer from the CRM Contact Lookup View.

2. When the link is clicked in the CRM Contact lookup, it opens the account edit page in a new window.

Lookup OnChange doesn't fire on Remove.

The Lookup control OnChange event doesn't fire when the User hits the Remove button.

And it does fire when the User selects the same record.

I can live with the latter, but the former needs to be fixed, I think.

Exception on opening lookup dialog

We are having problems at two client-sites when opening lookup-dialogs (ie. when clicking the magnifying glass). At one site the problem is intermittent -- it'll show up for a few hours and then go away only to return some weeks later. At the other site it has stopped working altogether. In both cases, the exception thrown looks like this:

I've set up my TabBar thus:

ITabBar objTabBar = ControlFactory.CreateTabBar();

objTabBar.ID = "objTabBar";

objTabBar.ClientSideAfterChangeHandler = "ChangeTab";

Now in ChangeTab() I want to discover which tab lost focus or was clicked.

SavePage ok-button stopped working

Hi,

I have just deployed an update of some code to our a test server, and encountered a strange issue. We have a handful of pages that are SavePage pages. Normally "stuff" happens when you click the ok button, but now - after my deployment - all the ok-buttons simply don't work, apparently because the javascript function that is bound as eventhandler to the click event no longer exists. An inspection of the source of the page reveals that the chunk of javascript that normally handles this is missing.

Has anyone experienced something similar or have some insight into why this might happen? Thanks in advance.

CRM users can edit manually the date in the text area of datepicker. In that manner, however, the returnValue is not refreshed and the control retrieves the initial date.

querystring problem

Hi,

I have an onsave event which uses the

open.window("/test.aspx?name="+sName);

to open a datagrid like the one in example 4.03c

Now, the page opens and I have a variable which retrieves the name variable

var abc = Request.QueryString["name"];

However, this is not returning anything. If I hardcode var abc = "some variable", my fetch query works fine so I know that this is not related to my fetch.

I have tried Request.Form and also http://www.c360.com/Forums/Topic235-8-1.aspx?Highlight=querystring

I think it may have something to do with the fact that I am using window.open?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Background coloring of rows in grid?

Hi,

Has anyone tried to change the background color of individual rows in a c360 grid? We have a customer that has asked if it is possible to change the color of the individual grid rows, depending on the value of some row. Is there any (un)supported way of doing this?

I assume one could try to add some javascript to the onload event of the window to iterate over the entire DOM, but if someone has found an easier method (or has done what I was thinking about), then I'd be very interested :)

Is it possible to use themes in a webapplication. Those pages that inherit from AreaPage throw an error :

An exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Web.dll but was not handled in user code

Additional information: Using themed css files requires a header control on the page. (e.g. <head runat="server" />).

The theme is set in web.config :

And the html view of the aspx page shows <head runat="server"> in the designer.

Which lookup control fired?

I have umpteen Lookup controls on an EditPage. They all have the same OnChange event handler. In the event handler, how do I tell which Lookup control changed? Or do I need a separate handler for each Lookup control?

Hello, i am new to the c360 sdk so you have to excuse my ignorance or lack of information. I am trying to modified the doubleclickhandler for my gridpage so that when you double click on a record or row it opens a new window. I added the javascript to my page and it didnt work. I also tried

objgrid.DoubleClickEventhandler = "OpenNewWindow()";

but i keep getting the same error when i double click on a row.

"Error: Object Required".

I'm not exactly sure where to look on this one and any help would be greatly appreciated. If more information is needed dont hesitate to let me know.
