Posted 4/26/2006 8:34:11 PM | | | | Hello - We had to change our configuration and deleted a custom entity. However, after deleting the entity I receive an error in the multi-field search. The error reads: new_staywellproduct entity not found in CRM. New_StayWellProduct is the entity we deleted. I tried an un-install re-install but that did not resolve the issue. Regards, Jon |

| Posted 4/30/2006 9:13:31 AM | | | | Jon, You probably get this error when you click on the 'Search All' button. Is this right? The reason why I suspect this is the case is because you have the ability to specify the entities that will be searched when this button is clicked and, by default, all entities when MFS is installed are searched. This would explain why you get an error after deleting a custom entity. To resolve this problem, simply click on the 'Preferences' button and click on the 'Search All' tab where you can select the entities you want to be searched. Your custom entity will not be listed since it no longer exist. When you are done, make sure to click on the 'Save' button in order to update your preferences and thereby removing the deleted entity from the list of searched entities.

| Posted 4/30/2006 9:20:41 AM | | | | We actually get the error right when CRM attempts to load the control/page for multi-field search. As soon as the link is clicked on from the left navigation the error appears. We are also now receiving an error in relationship explorer that reads: Server error in ‘/c360’ Application. ‘Entity name’ cannot be an empty string. Parameter name: entityName Thanks, Jon |
| Posted 5/1/2006 11:41:14 AM | | | | Jon, thanks for the additional information. Since you get the error as soon as you click on the MFS link, you obviously can't reach the 'Preferences' window. The only other solution I can think of is to manually edit your personal preferences file. Assuming you have installed our products in the default location, you will find a folder called 'UserPreferences' under 'C:\Program Files\c360 Solutions\v3'. In this folder, you will find one file for each user containing their preferences. You need to find your personal file (hint: open the file and you will see the name of the corresponding user near the top) and rename it with a '.old' extension. This will get you rid of your of all your preferences including the reference(s) to the deleted entity. Let me know if this helps
