| Posted 3/10/2006 9:38:08 AM | | | | Mario, Here's a quote taken from page 3 of the "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Pricing and Licensing White Paper" published by Microsoft in November 2005: "Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 - External Connector can be used to provide access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 data to customers, partners and suppliers through any application/graphical user interface" Our interpretation of this statement is that the connector is required when you expose data externally which our Customer Portal clearly does. Therefore you need the connector when using our Customer Portal. However, WebConnect imports data into CRM and does not expose anything externally. You don't need the connector with WebConnect. Having said all this, please note that you should not consider this post as legal advice or base your decision to acquire Microsoft's External Connector solely on our opinion. I recommend that you contact Microsoft directly in order to make sure that you are in compliance with their licensing policies. You may or may not already have the connector based on your agreement with Microsoft therefore I strongly recommend that you contact them for advice on this matter.
