Whenever we open a C360 screen that contains a grid - so for exmaple the Multi-Field search or the Customer Portal, we get a "Object doesn't support this property or method"

Is there anything we can do to rectify the problem or debug the issue?

This is a situation that occurs in rare cases where some JavaScript file(s) did not get properly updated during an update.

Thew Windows installation service is supposed to detect the fact that you are attempting to update a file with a more recent version of the same but for some reason, it doesn't. The result is that you end up with an outdated version of the file in question which causes the error you are mentioning.

The easiest way to resolve this problem is to delete the file in question and to run the c360 setup again (make sure you download the latest version from our download center www.c360.com/Download.aspx). The Windows installer will realize that the file is missing and will create it. In your case, the offending file is located in the "C:\Program Files\c360 Solutions\v3\CrmWeb\Web\Toolkit\Scripts". Since there could be more than just one file that was not properly updated, I recommend deleting all JavaScript files in the folder I just mentioned.

Let me know if this solves the problem.

ok.  did that.  Now it is working on only one PC and not any others.

THE one PC it is working on is the CRMserver where C360 is installed.  It has IE6 SP1.  All other PC's have IE6 SP2.

You need to delete the Internet cache on each PC. IE maintains local copies of JavaScript files for performance reasons ant it is supposed to detect when a file has changed on the server and download the most recent version sometimes this doesn't happen and IE holds on to the "out-dated" version of the JavaScript file.

I have the same symptoms as "mgood" had.  The server with IE6 will send a portal invitation okay, but a client with IE7 (even after deleting temp Internet files) gives " Object doesn't support this property or method ":

After testing from a different IE6 client, it still gives the error so the problem is not the IE version.  Given that it only works on the server and there is a long pause before the error, there may be some kind of data access problem, perhaps a timeout.

I tried moving the .js files and performed a repair (which re-added the .js files) as suggested in a previous post, but the problem remains.

I granted the "everyone" security group access to the script folder in case locally accessing the files from "system" is why it works on the server.  By the symptoms it seems like there is a javascript or ASP serving issue, but non-server access introduces a "double-hop" request to the SQL server introducing a possible kerberos or delegation issue.  We are in a separate CRM and SQL server environment.

Surely someone has run into this problem before.  Why would it work on the server but not on a client???

FIX:  The SMTP server name was using the server name.  For some reason the DNS was slowing things down, so by entering the IP address it worked!  I hope this helps someone else.  Cheers.

I was WRONG, that wasn't the fix!  When I made a change to the SMTP server, it seemed to fix it because the change was made from the server ....when there is a change on the server, the clients are able to make changes for a limited time.  After playing with the connection settings, I believe it's an impersonation problem.  Changes can be made from the server because it's not impersonated, but for some reason the impersonation is not working right.  I will update more when I figure it out or any ideas would be appreciated.
